American History Fresh Squeezed (Brain Juice)
Published in Hardcover by Handprint Books (October, 2002)
Average review score:

ExcellentMy children (9 & 11) and I love this book! You'll be amazed at what you can learn from this creative poetry. Reading this book will probably be the most fun you ever have learning about people and events in American History. It's pretty short, so you'll likely finish the entire book in one sitting, but it's SO CUTE! My daughter took this book to school to share with her class. I'm hoping to find more poetry of this sort from Carol Diggory Shields. You'll love it!

Amphoras and the Ancient Wine Trade (Excavations of the Athenian Agora Picture Bks No. 6)
Published in Paperback by American School of Classical Studies (January, 1980)
Average review score:

A Concise Look at Ancient Wine JarsThe late Miss Grace was the foremost authority on ancient wine jars, amphorae, and worked for many years at the Agora in Athens. This book is the result of years of experience and therefore gives the reader all the benefit of her wide knowledge. Nowhere else can one find such a succinct look at these very interesting jars. The pamphlet is particularly valuable for the non-expert who just wants to know which type of jar is which, how they were used and what they contained. Very well done!

Animal Heroes
Published in Paperback by Indypublish.Com (April, 2001)
Average review score:

A MasterpieceThis one of the best nature books ever written. Seton Thompson's skills in describing the animals, their lives, and even their feelings and thoughts are incredible. Reading this book you you practically live that particular animal's life
Not only are the animal descriptions stunning, but so are the nature ones. Usually when an author describes nature, it puts you to bed. On the other hand Seton's are much more lively and fun to read.
This book is a must read, one of the best nature books ever written. It helps you appreciate hte nature more.

Art of Fighting
Published in Paperback by Summerdale Pub Ltd (November, 1999)
Average review score:

A true scholar of "real fighting"Thompson is obviously a man who has come full circle in his approach to violent confrontation. The book convincingly talks the reader through the various behavioural stages which precede most "real" attacks. As someone who studies a martial art, I agree with the sentiments in the book which relate to the shortcomings of many martial arts training programmes, in dealing with situations which go "live" unexpectedly.
Anyone wishing to gain a better understanding of the anatomy of a fight, and how to avoid it before it gets physical, could not do much better than this book.

The Art of William Edmondson

visionaryEdmondson was one of the few artists ever to be led into his work by pure inner vision and his work shows the extraordinary power of genuine and uninfected inspiration so rare to us these days. A wonderful gift for anyone interested in the power of stone.
